BRB

Feeling: Meh
Current love: Yelle - Je Veux Te Voir

Sooo, I guess I'm back from my unannounced half year+ long hiatus. For the most part, I didn't really feel the urge to blog, or at least enough "urge" to motivate me to from all the school work I had to do. But seriously, what school work? Looking back, I didn't have too hard of a semester. I was pretty worried at the beginning due to the loaded science and math classes, and I speculated that I would be studying mucho over the semester, but, that didn't really happen. After the happy surprise and much unexpected 4.0 of first semester, I made it a goal to actually exert effort aka study for my classes, because I really didn't till towards the end, when I was sure that I would get a B in Calc 3 and English.
Alas, studying is a lot of effort, and I didn't do too much of it. everything worked out at the end though, minus Chemistry, which was my least favorite class due to the poor quality of the educators. Nonetheless I didn't care much about it and ended up with a B, so whtev. But what did bother me was my B in SOC100, the easiest damn class in my life. I don't even know what the fuck happened, but it really pisses me off. Damn you Hillis!

So yes, it's summer now, and I don't have much to do. I really wished I blogged during the semester to capture the fond memories...good times. I visited Payless (the groceries store) today to pick up some items for my mom. (Unrelated, some old lady complimented on my hair, which made me happy, but it was funny at the same time) Upon browsing the aisles, the job dilemma was going through my head again. Basically, I don't know how I am going to support myself next year. I just signed a least earlier this month, and my parents agreed to pay for half of my rent. I do have a job currently at Folletts bookstore, and will have at least one (Exponent) during the year. But, I've been counting and doing some math lately, and I'm uncertain if I can cover my expenses next year with the rate I'm currently working, which s a bout 15-20 hours per week. I don't hate working at Folletts, but it's not a place I want to work 6 hour shifts everyday. I've looked at other jobs, but none were to my liking. Maybe I;m being too picky? Should I just tough it out this summer? I don't want to, but I don't know what I should do either Not having money is kind of miserable, or at least I've been trying hard not to spend. I want to travel this summer, and I already have a few plans in mind. The money issue is there again, but I'm leaning towards traveling, even if it makes me a starving college kid next year.
Well, that's pretty much my summer so far. I took Maymester with Prof. Morrison for History of Rock n' Roll. It was a fun class, and I wish it lasted longer. On the last day of class, after he finished teaching, he told us about the meaning of life. It was rather touchy and bittersweet, and I gave my empathy. He went through slides of his past, filled with pictures, music, jokes, and heartwarming commentary. He did the same with his daughter and wife. And then he talked about a famous Russian hockey player (I'm too lazy to look up his name) who basically lost it all in a freak car accident. Lastly, he talked about his sister who died from cancer at the age of 24. Basically, the moral was that life is unpredictable. "Play the cards you're dealt with, cherish every moment, because you never know what will happen next." Yes it sounds overly dramatic, but the way he presented and conveyed his feelings left a big impact upon myself, and I'm sure, upon my classmates. I hope our paths will cross again.
Apart from class, sleeping, eating, interneting, I've started playing around with mixing music with Ableton. I suppose it was a result of my recent rising interest in electronic music. Mixing is rather fun, and I've been spending considerable amount of time on my current mixtape. (expect it soon!) The downside to mixing is the frustration of being stuck., much like how I hate writer's/artist's block. Obviously I picked up blogging again, and I'm hoping to pick u my painting that I started a year or so ago. I'm pretty bad at finishing things, especially when it comes to art. Also, I've procrastinated on my album list for 06, considering I made the post back in Jan. I had fun making it last year, so hopefully that will be done soon. now that I have free time---perhaps too much free time.
